Cabo Roig, like Javea, has a large expat community made up of mostly British citizens. Therefore it remains quite lively in the wintertime, unlike some Spanish resort towns. One of the most noticeable things about Cabo Roig is the very friendly atmosphere; the resort is worth considering for relocation due to the variety of people you will meet who will extend you a warm welcome. Whether you are young or old, single or a couple, you’re sure to find many things to keep you occupied in the popular Costa Blanca resort of Cabo Roig.
The resort is famous for its two wide sandy beaches that are very well maintained and ideal for children. The two beaches of Cabo Roig are Cala Capitan and La Caleta, and both have a blue flag award for safety, facilities, and cleanliness. Cabo Roig also has a marina, where sea traveling visitors to the town can moor their boats and yachts. You can take a windsurfing or sailing class at the marina, and once you have worked up a good appetite, enjoy a meal at one of the many waterside restaurants.
For those who enjoy a game of golf, there are several courses in the area including Las Ramblas, Campoamor and Villamartin. These courses are less than 10 minutes from the Cabo Roig town centre, and a further three courses can be reached within 20 minutes.
The larger resort of Torrevieja is just 15 minutes drive away, and due to the very large expat community, this resort offers plenty of work possibilities for expats; particularly during the summer months.
Cabo Roig has had some famous residents; both the late Terry Wogan and Cilla Black had homes there.
