Low Fare airlines lead in El Altet airport of Alicante
The Diario Información un informe has published an article stating that EasyJet + Thomsonfly + Air Berlin are the leading airlines of the El Altet airport, all are low fare airlines, whose growth is rapid and steady. It is thought that these airlines will be utilizing most of the new space of the T-2 terminal that has just been inaugurated. Easy Jet has already asked permission to place their base operations for Spain in the airport (With Madrid being their other home base) which is an indication of the volume of Mediterranean tourism of the Costa Blanca.
El Altet is scheduled to complete the construction of its new grounds sometime in 2010. This along with the arrival of the AVE from Madrid (a train ride of only 1 1/2 hours) will ensure the continued growth of the Costa Blanca tourism.
