Valencia´s musical theater presents "Like Water for Chocolate"

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

One of my favorite movies ever is “Like Water for Chocolate“, an ultra romantic film about the passion of love and food.  If you have never seen this film and you are a romantic or film lover, I highly recommended. The novel is a beautiful piece as well and now there is a theater version.

December 14th through January 7th 2007 you can see the play directed by Garbi Losada in the Musical Theater of Valencia. A great holiday gift idea for your loved one.

Theater for kids in the parks of the City

Friday, October 13th, 2006

Birlibirloque en plena actuación.

All kids love to play in the park and at the same time use their imagination and invent new games to have fun. The theater is one of those mediums that hypnotizes the little ones and attracts them with their magical performances. The combination of both of these is not only a good idea, it is a necessity.

Now every Sunday afternoon at 20.00 h parks around the city sutch as: Monte Tossal, Lo Morant, El Palmeral, Pedro Goitia y La Ereta, parents with their kids can enjoy different performances of puppeteers, story telling and many more that include music, laughs and many surprises.

All performances are free and worth while. The children will have a ball as well as their parents when they see how much their little ones are learning and experiencing at the theater.

The National Ballet of Cuba in the Alicante Principal Theater

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

The new tour of The National Ballet of Cuba, one of the most famous dance companies in the world will be at our doors here, in the Alicante Principal Theater on the 10th and 11th of October with a choreographed version of Giselle by Alicia Alonso. It is a dream come true to be able to see the creation of Alicia, one of the most authentic and most precious Giselles there ever was.

It is not everyday companies such as this one pass through our city, specially nowadays when ballet is becoming a dying art due to its lack of spectators and sponsors. It is a real shame to lose such an art that has given the life to many stories such as: Romeo and Juliet, Carmen, Sleeping Beauty and many many more.

I hope no one misses these dates, not even the most passion filled ballet lovers or the curious who will miss a wonderful day at the ballet.
