The salad is already in Benidorm

Campeones de Alegrías will organize a charity football match in Benidorm

The Campeones de Alegrías charity, whose president is Adans Peres, will organize a football match between Spain and Italy to raise funds for the construction of a new dolphinarium. The ultimate goal is to extend the number of children who will benefit from the treatments of dolphin-assisted therapy.

Dolphin-assisted therapy is very beneficial for children affected by general developmental disorders such as, cerebral palsy or genetic disorders such as Downs Syndrome.

The match will take place at the Benidorm football field the month of June. The orginizers estimate that they will be able to accommodate a group of at least 15,000 people, and if it were necessary, 5,000 more. The poster of the event is still unknown.

Spain will compete for the European Cup soccer-beach championship

The Levante beach in Benidorm will be the host of the European qualifying pahse for for the World Cup beach-soccer championship that will be celebrated from the 13th to the 18th May, this year it will take place on the beach of Prado Marseille.

This competition will determine the four teams that will represent Europe in the World Championships.

The competition will be televised in 130 countries and the mayor of Benidorm has stated that this event will contribute to the international dissemination of the image of the city.

Benidorm will host the finals of the World Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics

Benidorm continues to promote major events, and will host the first final of the World Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics taking place in Spain. The event will take place at the Palau d’Esports L’Illa between the 1st and 5th of October.

In this final the twelve best gymnasts classified for the Olympic Games in Beijing which take place in August, and the eight best teams classified by country will participate.

The International Federation of Gymnastics has selected Benidorm for its sports facilities, hotels and apartments and climate against the other candidate to become headquarters in Russia.

This sporting event will have tremendous television coverage in Europe, especially in countries of the east, and the United States, especially during the weekend with the finals.

Magic Costa Blanca hires Poty to direct their dance academy

We told you a couple of weeks ago that the hotel group Magic Costa Blanca has incorporated dance classes to its entertainment offers. Well, the hotel chain has pur all its effort in this initiative and they have hired Poty to direct the dance academy.

Magic Costa Blanca has designed a fantastic world centered in magic. In which the clients who visit their establisments can learn magic in their School of Magical Arts in teh Alfaz Castel and in the the Residential houses ordered by magic to be found in hotels of the group.

But this world of fantasy focused towards kids, needed to be completed with an initiative for adults. The answer is dance and the best at this specialty is Poty. A person who will take the Magic Costa Blanca brand this year and the dance academy. Poty assures that we are all going to dance.

The Magic Costa Blanca clients will learn two choreographies in two different style each week and they will get to enjoy the great dance show-contest in each hotel where they will compete realizing the choreographyes designed by Poty: the teachers, the students and the employees of the hotel.

Benidorm welcomes the Spain-France sub-21

The Foietes Stadium in Benidorm will welcome the national selection between Spain and Fance in the sub-21 category next February 5^th. The friendly encounter, will being at 21:45 will be televised live by channel 2 Spain Television.

The excellent terrain in the stadium of the Foites, as well as the fantastic installations have convinced the Federation that they had without a doubt pay a visit to this tourist city since it had not kept its promise 5 years ago. On that occasion the international encounter of the sub 21 went to La Condomina in Murcia.

This game will lend the opportunity to watch live the young great players such as Bojan Kirkic, on the the fixed national players.

The Federation will fix popular prices in hopes of registering a great atmosphere. The Foietes stadium holds up to nine thousand spectators.

The XXXIV Christmas Nautical CN Benidorm trophy open 2008 competition

Sailing Lovers have something to smile about this weekend because the Yacht Club will host the XXXIV Benidorm Christmas infant Water Sailing Trophy , something not to be missed Valencian Community and the rankings Roga Cuca 2007-2008.

It will also be the first test for the 2008 infant sailing , they are eager to hoist the sails. The A, B Optimist class Laser 4.7 , will meet to demonstrate their nautical skills.

During this weekend, more than 150 sailors will arrive with their bay sails from Benidorm, which will again become a veritable sailing feast for the small ones.

Activities will begin in the early hours of Saturday, with the arrival of the teams and the presentation of the latest requirements. Subsequently, small boats will arrive, the Committee will get off to the and join in the race and if weather conditions are suitable, the competition will begin.

Sunday the regatas will beging at mid morning. Once the tests are completed there will be a trophey ceremony.

Real Madrid will visit the Costa Blanca to confront Alicante

Real Madrid will travel tomorrow to the Costa Blanca, the same day the Copa del Rey game that will put them face to face with Alicante. The entourage will land in the El Altet airport tomorrow midday. They will head back from the same around 23.55 hours of the same day. The Real Madrid team will be staying in the Hotel Hesperia Gold, in Playa San Juan.A visit of only eleven hours but highly awaited by the aficionados of the capital of the province, that since 1997 have been waiting for an official Real Madrid game in the Rico Perez stadium.

At the moment, the dates are not yet confirmed for the date of the returning game in the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid, although everything seems to be pointing to the date that was originally set for the second of January.

This will be a very special game for Capi and Borja, since their origins come from the Real Madrid.

Benidorm will be the next stage for the Christmas Beach Volley A3 Tournament

The Poniente beach of Benidorm will welcome Saturday the Christmas Beach Volley A3 Tournament. The event will begin at 9 am and the semi-finals and final will be played Sunday the 16^th at the same time.The International Tanit Beach Volley Club welcomes all lovers and enthusiast of the sport to come and take part in this special event brought to all thanks to the Sport counsel of Benidorm City Hall.

The awards of this edition will be the following: First place will consist f 900 euros, second price is 600 euros and third is 450 euros, and all will include medals and a trophy.

Benidorm will hold an ice skating rink in its “Christmas Plaza”

Christmas is starting to show its face in many cities of the Costa Blanca and Benidorm is no exception. Next Saturday December 1^st the Plaza of kings will turn in to the “Christmas Plaza”.

In this location, an ice skating rink will be installed, a merry go round, a market with typical products of the area and a stage for Christmas carols to be performed. All this will remain open until the 10^th of January.

The main attraction here for residents and tourist will be the ice skating rink which was installed for the first time last year and which will be constructed in a way in which it will not disrupt any neighbours with noise.

The centre of the plaza will also hold a merry go round, an attraction directed for the little ones, while the commission of the Patron Fiestas will be in charge of the “x-mas mercadillo” where all sorts of holiday and traditional items will be sold.

City hall will also join in the festivities with decorative lights and holiday decorations, a huge nativity scene made possible by the Belenistas association of The Marina Baixa will be placed in the entrance of the Consistory, and a twenty feet Christmas tree will give the final holiday touches to this wonderful event.
