In this location, an ice skating rink will be installed, a merry go round, a market with typical products of the area and a stage for Christmas carols to be performed. All this will remain open until the 10th of January.

One of the great pleasures in life, for me at least is being able to enjoy good food and be surrounded by nature at its best. For that reason I love to explore new places and one of those places I have discovered in the enological routes through the province of Alicante designed by Esatur and Vins del Comtat.
This initiative offers a series of excursions to discover the province of Alicante in a different way, through the aroma of its wines and the taste of its gastronomy, visiting its vineyards, and all the history that surrounds the world of wine.
This cultural experience should be shared with friends, family members or a team of co-workers, in order to enjoy truly appreciate its meaning in society and feel the culture of this land that offers such a rich history.
In these day trips you could truly enjoy a complete gastronomical and cultural adventure by the hands of El Comtat. You can see how the wine is processes, where it comes from while you enjoy the best gastronomy of the Mediterranean region.

During August the month of the Fiestas of Moors and Christian’s different towns of Alicante take turns being the protagonists of these special times. Cocentaina, Villajoyosa and Jijona are among the contenders in these events. Year after year more and more tourists from other regions attend these fiestas. The Desembarco de Villajoyosa is now considered an international tourist interest point.
In Cocentaina we can see the DIANA that is performed during the morning of the same day of the entrance of the Moors and Christians. This year it was celebrated the 11th of August.
And lastly, in Jijona we can see the different acts such as el Correfocs, where different demons fill the streets with fire and smoke in the old part of town to a rhythm of dulzaina and tabal, the entrance of the Moors and Christians, where the streets turn in to a full fledged party with music and color to the company of the moor and Christian troupes, and the Moro Traidor (moor traitor), where a staged jury accuses a moor of converting to christianism due to the fact he fell in love with a Christian dame.

Everyone knows that in Alicante you eat well, but now more than eating great food , we want to eat healthy. I recently read the 290,000 people in the province and 54,000 in the city of Alicante are pledging to eat right according to a study held by the College of Nursing of Alicante.
This new type of food issue is called ortorexia and it consists of a poor diet, anemic, with lack of proteins, that could in some cases cause malnutrition.
The ortorexic profile is that of a ecological person, with no sense of anything, and middle aged.

It’s no surprise that the first World Rice Congress be celebrated in the Valencian Community. The 25th and 26th of April the Santa Marta hotel in Cullera will transform itself in a place where renowned chefs such as Quique Dacosta and Dani García will talk about the different types of rice and rice dishes while Medicine Scholar Manuel Serrano Ríos will explain all the nutritional aspects of rice.
A total of 14 of the best chefs in the world will participate in this event together with professionals and business men from the hotelier sector, specially from the Valencian community. I will have to find out if they allow visitors to taste any delicious treats they may try.

Future connections by train to Benidorm will reduce travel time of these great distances even more now (how many people from Madrid would love to enjoy an apartment for the holidays once this becomes a reality?) Because Madrid and Benidorm will be only a couple of hours away. Get out of work at three jump on a train and voila, you are ready to take a dip in the pool by 5 pm.. You can’t ask for more.
Valencia will be only one hour away, something really important being that all official entities live in this city and the capital of tourism which is without a doubt Benidorm. Bringing these two cities closer is sure to impulse tourism.
Valencia, Gandia, El Altet, Benidorm, El Campello.. now just a step closer than before.. all waiting to share its beaches and great climate. Nothing like it.
