La Costa Blanca has its own August in December

The Costa Blanca tourist sector is experiencing an excellent moment even though it is low season. Thanks to the great weather we have been having hotel owners are more than satisfied with the occupancy rate this winter is experiencing.
This year we are seeing a large amount of tourists in the cities of Benidorm and Torrevieja. Benidorm hoteliers report that they are well above the 85 percent occupancy rate and will keep increasing, even though their neighbours in Alicante are not having any more success.
Restaurants, bars, cafeterias and pubs, among other establishments related to tourism have notably increased their clientele in respect to other weekends. Business owners are noticing this increase and are very pleased.

The Technological Hotel Institute (ITH) has organized a series of courses destined to bring hoteliers and tourist sector professionals closer, in general the concept and the philosophy of Travel 2.0 which Magic Costa Blanca has been a pioneer of will lead these classes.
The initiative also pretends to help the sector at the time to take opportune steps to confront the goal of 2.0 with security and certainty, all this by giving tools and education regarding projects to be implanted.
The course which lasts three hours, will give an introduction of the Web 2.0, as well as concept Travel 2.0 and it will concentrate on its evolution to the travel, hotel and destiny segment. An analysis of new client trend on the web will also be discussed.
The course will also analyze the 2.0 design and concepts such as georeferatiation, and talk in particular about Iberostar, the possibilities of pod casting, blogs and videoblogs.
There will also be examples of blogs and Magic Costa Blanca travel communities and amic-hotels, and the SMM Social Media Marketing strategy.
The Seminar will take place in Barcelona, Madrid, Lanzarote and La Rioja and will be taught by directors and sub director of the hotel, e-commerce, and e-business responsables as well as managers from the marketing department, and geared to all those interested in the evolution of the Internet in the tourist sector or tourism students.

The air quality in Benidorm is excellent

The tourists and neighbours of Benidorm could feel safe, knowing that the air quality they are breathing throughout the city is excellent, according to a report prepared by the Counsel of Environment.
Benidorm authorities have stated that the levels of sulphur dioxides and nitrogen, carbon monoxide and lead do not exceed the levels that are set by the current regulation.
The environment measurer, located in the ecopark of the city, reflects that the quality of air “is very far” from any contaminated parameter.
The contamination atmosphere measure realizes daily air registers in real time and transfers the information to a data reception centre named the Centre of Atmospheric Control of the Generalitat.

The Christmas “Gordo” Lotto was found in Benidorm in 2006, will it happen again?

Right now many of you are buying in bulk the X-Mas Lotto that will make you a millionaire. Well, in this post we want to remind you that Benidorm and the Costa Blanca have won big in 12 occasions.The first prize of the Extraordinary Christmas Lotto fell twelve times in the province of Alicante. The capital, has given the first prize on five occasions, concretely in 1990, 1906, 1937 and in 2006.
Seven other towns of the Costa Blanca have also been lucky, winning the “Gordo”, : Almoradí (1980), El Campello (1993), Novelda (1998), Elche (1999), Elda (2002), Onil (2006) y Benidorm (2006). Maybe we will get lucky again this year!
In the province of Alicante there have been a total of 764,606 lotto tickets sold, which jeans a total of 153,921,200 euros and a medium cost of 85.74 per citizen. Good luck to all!!!

XI Antique Toy Fair in Denia

This fair is a meeting place for all those persons interested in antique toys and its collections. You could participate by selling, interchanging or simply buying. The event will take place Saturday 8th of December 2007 from 10:00 to 18:00 hours in the Marques del Campo street.
Bruce Springsteen may include Benidorm in his next Spanish tour

I hope they confirm this soon, it would be just incredible news for Costa Blanca fans of the “Boss”. According to what I read in the El perdiodico article, Bruce Springsteen is thinking about a new European tour and Benidorm would be one of the stops.
It seems, the awesome American rocker loved his latest stay in Spain and might plan a return soon. The fans would be very delighted just at the thought of having him here, as was shown in Barcelona.
For now he has confirmed a total of 19 concerts in Europe, but there are open dates still to be filled. The nights between the 11th of July (Helsinki) and the 17th of July (Madrid).
With a little luck, the dates for Spain will be set soon. San Sebastian, Benidorm and Palma de Mallorca are among the strong candidates. The concert would take place anywhere from September on.
More than 12,000 Costa Blanca children will visit the Tirisiti Belen

A total of 12,363 of schools and high schools of the Costa Blanca and all over the Valencian Community in general will attend the 137 showings of the Belen of Tirisite in Alcoy. This very festive function with marionettes is part of the cultural interests. The representations will begin next Friday and will end the 21st of December in the stage of the Principal theatre of Alcoy. These showings take many of the traditions of the Costa Blanca and specially the interiors of the province.
This year, there will not be any phone ticket sales, there will be 50 tickets on sale through the ServiCam. If you have kids you know what to so, I highly recommend this event, the children will have fun.
When all the Christmas presentations are over, the principal act of the Belen called Tirisiti, will initiate a world tour in company of the theatre association for infancy and youth, that recently received a national price. The first stop will be New Delhi and later a visit to Mexico and China.

Terra Mitica begins to select new artists

The theme park Terra Mitica in Benidorm is holding auditions for artist by selecting actors, ballet dancers and specialists for its different shows for next season.
Actors, dancers, extras, stilt walkers, jugglers, acrobats and fight specialists have the opportunity to participate as part of the Terra Mitica artistic team. The audition will take place today and tomorrow in the installations of the theme park.
Imagination, creation, illusion and capacity to act in public are just some of the pre requisites, as well as the aptitude of each profession, that the hopefuls should have.
Benidorm is known for its incomparable frame of tourism and its diversification of entertainment. This is the case of the chain of hotels Magic Costa Blanca, a company that has always put forth their efforts by offering excellent cultural events and entertainment for its clients.
