Oscar Marcos, chef of the Kataria Gastronomic restaurant in Benidorm has won the first price for the best appetizer in the sixth semi-final of the second edition of the chef of the year contest, for the Valencian Community and the Murcia Region.Marcos prepared several appetizers that were finger liking good such as the Pil Pil with green peas, cockles with beech juice, a potato omelette with poached quail egg yolk and golden injected onion.

Kataria Gastronómica restaurant in located in Avd. de Europa in Benidorm. It is a great place where light is the featured star alongside the beautiful mirador of the city.

There is a different weekly menu with a cost of about 30 euros. The restaurant also offers a complete wine list which is updated often. You must taste the rice which combines traditional kitchen with innovative aesthetics.

“Benidorm, vacations just like a movie” will be the theme for the new campaign that will promote the city, it will be revealed for the first time October 26^th during the premier of Nicole Kidman’s new movie.The Benidorm spot will be show before the movie “The invasion”, nevertheless, it will also be shown again with other premiers that have been chosen for the impulse of the campaign.

The new commercial will be seen in over 214 Spanish movie theatres in cities like Madrid and some of the localities of the Basque country, as well as other provinces near Alicante and other regions.

Next Thursday the city of Benidorm will welcome a contemporary exhibition in the exhibition hall in the Caja Mediterraneo. The works, which will be auctioned for charitable causes, have as their inspiration the sea and the city of Benidorm.‘Benidorm i la seua mar’ is a collection of the works of 21 artists that have given their arts with the objective of having them auctioned to obtain funds for charitable causes such as the Doble Amor Centre as well as for the Fiestas Mayores Patronales 2007 of Benidorm.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until November 20^th. The auction of the works will be held the 7^th of November. What do you say? Its, for a good cause!

Terra Mítica theme park will transform itself until the 4th of November into a cemetery with the motive of Halloween. The parks sign will also change these days, substituting the image of the wind rose by a pumpkin.

For the first time in its history, Terra Mitica will vary the original theme of its installation, based in ancient civilizations, to take advantage of the popular Halloween party.

The area of Egypt will be the most changed, where they have re created two huge cemeteries with glittered tombstones.

They have also installed 30 meter high spider webs with huge spiders and they have changed some of the rides for the occasion.

The restaurants of the complex also have special menus in mind, which they will offer to all guests, some to be tasted with your eyes closed.

There will also organize theatre shows which will include the re creation of the zombie wedding with the appearance of the Adams Family, dancers of death and the Count Dracula.

You don’t need to travel to Germany to enjoy the essence of a German Oktoberfest. From the 4^th until the 14^th of October in the Alicante community of Calpe beer and sausage and even chucrut will be the stars of this festival.

Next Thursday October 4th you will be able to see the traditional “O’Zapft is!” in other words the opening of the first barrel of beer. From then and for the next ten days, the visitors will drink German beer and will try typical food from this country with a tarp that will be able to hold one million persons.

The ambiance will be completely inspired by the German country, including live music that will bring to life the German folklore.

The first popular Oktoberfest party in Calpe was held in 1988 and since then, it has been celebrated yearly.

Benidorm continuous to work in a very professional way to make sure that all its tourist services have the proper seals and distinctions of quality. In this occasion, the city has published a letter of services for beaches, a pre requisite to obtain the European quality  “Q”.

Actually, the beaches of Benidorm already posses the ISO 14001 certificates for environmental quality number 9001.

In order to obtain the “Q” it is necessary to publish the letter of services of the beaches. Already there are 2,000 letters written in Spanish and another thousand in valencian, English and Dutch.

Between the numerous services in these texts are the Levante beach characteristics, the bath season, the beach services, the accessible points, the cleanliness duties, security ect..The incidences indicators, the objectives planned for the year and the complaint and suggestion system, as well as a map of indication for everything you can find in the beach.
