Viña Rock is back in the awesome beaches of Benicàssim and this year we will be able to enjoy of a well rounded music event. Hip Hop, reggae, pop, rock, metal and fusion all together for days of fun, what else do you need?

Water sports are ready to begin this spring and the Windsurf Club of Santa Pola celebrates from April 23rd through the 28th the European Formula Windsurfing Championships, right in line with the World Championships and for the first time here is Spain.

Here you will be able to see about 130 competitors from all over the world and hundreds of aficionados that will watch the regattas and participate in the rest of the activities that are scheduled which are kayak, slalom and freestyle regatta, windsurf concentration along with great music, and of course great food.

The Santa Pola Bay and the natural form of the great beach combine to make an incomparable frame for water sports, not only for its great environment but for its safety as well. Not to forget the wind that will accompany these fantastic athletes.

We should also remember that the Santa Pola beaches have been awarded the ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates for their water and sand quality.

Come to Santa Pola and enjoy the first European Windsurfing Championship celebrated in Spain. What are you waiting for, lets go..

The Cubismo y tendencias afines exhibition sponsored by the Cajamurcia foundation and the Alicante Council, visits Europe for the first time and the Mubag of Alicante offers it to all of us.

The exhibition brings together the principle representatives of cubism such as, Georges Braque, Juan Gris, Andrée Lhote among others. There are also five pieces from the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, three oils and two drawings.

In total there are 74 pieces you can view, seven of them are sculptures and 67 paintings. Within the painting there are 44 worked with oil, eight with pencil or collage and others with ink, water colors and techniques.

I can’t believe the wind that always blows so sweetly strong through these parts of the Valencian Community would decide to take a break when it is really needed. Looks like the Regatta committed has decided to suspend the third expedition of the first classification rounds of the Louis Vuitton Cup due to lack of wind.

It has now been three consecutive days that the float has not been able to begin the competition. Frustration for the tripulation, they will have to wait until the wind decides to once again push them along to their victories.

It’s no surprise that the first World Rice Congress be celebrated in the Valencian Community. The 25th and 26th of April the Santa Marta hotel in Cullera will transform itself in a place where renowned chefs such as Quique Dacosta and Dani García will talk about the different types of rice and rice dishes while Medicine Scholar Manuel Serrano Ríos will explain all the nutritional aspects of rice.

A total of 14 of the best chefs in the world will participate in this event together with professionals and business men from the hotelier sector, specially from the Valencian community. I will have to find out if they allow visitors to taste any delicious treats they may try.

The Central Market place in Valencia, a very unusual and unglamorous place transformed itself for a night of celebration which turned out to be not only a wonderful private party but also a very glamorous event.

More than a million people were invited to this great party, celebrities such as Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher where number one in the list and after a two hour wait, the valencianos got a chance to see this royal couple up and close.

A perfect scene to see and be seen in another glamorous night for Valencia.

Benidorm is thrilled to welcome all sorts of international competitions of different sporting disciplines to its neighborhood. This it does with great pleasure and enjoys the vigor and happiness with which all of the citizens and competitors feel when they are in this marvelous city.

And one of these events is the Chess competition which Benidorm supports with great pride. All for the passion of chess which is one of those games that intrigue us from a very young age. My 5 year old son is already hooked on the game and can’t wait to see all the great “masters” (as he calls them) play his favorite game.
