Hotels and Commercial Buildings in Benidorm will now be safer

All hotels and commercial buildings in Benidorm will be obligated by city hall to create an emergency and evacuation plan before June. All this will guarantee the safety of all residents and tourist and come and visit Benidorm every year.

Almost all hotels and new buildings already have some sort of own security protocol used before any emergency, but now they will need to pass an inspection to prove that they meet all the conditions that will now be mandatory by this new law.

Los Silencios de Colon, exhibition in the Santa Barbara Castle

The Felipe II exhibition room in the Santa Barbara Castle is hosting the work titled “Los Silencios de Colon” (the silences of Colon) from artist Cristóbal Gabarrón and will be on exhibition until the end of April.

There are 10 sculptures that form this work, all an homage to Cristóbal Colon from this magnificent artist from Murcia. His excellent work proceeds from New York and are beautiful works of abstract art.

If you plan a visit to the Santa Barbara Castle don´t miss out this great space.

Mundomar entertainment for the entire family

With the time change we experienced this weekend, spring is now officially on, and the extended Light hours will allow us to enjoy the Costa Blanca life to the fullest. Next week children will begin there long awaited spring break, and we will have 12 days to entertain them. I plan to make special with daily activities to all the wonderful sites of the city.

My first stop is going to be Mundomar, my kids love animals and Mundomar offers them that and more. Dolphins, ducks, turtles, seals and even birds who are ready to entertain. Located in the center of Benidorm, with spectacular views of the city.. I highly recommend this as a starting point to your vacation.

Alacant Coyote Rock, Musical Concert

Every Thursday and Friday until April 26th we can watch amateur bands compete for a grand price of 10,000 euros in the bar Coyote of Alicante, starting at 23:00 hours. Sponsored by the AudioGenia Estudios recording studio, this could become one of the most important contest of the Alicante region.

From the 98 demos received only 18 groups have been selected and one will take home the big price. Each band will perform their original songs and between the judges with a 40% of the votes and the public with a 60% input will choose the best of the best. If you want to participate in this great mini concert, you will not only have an important part of the judging but you will have a great time.

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band in the Gran Teatro of Elche

Straight from New Orleans, live in the Grand Teatro of Elche, thanks to the promoter Ophelia Management, we will be able to see The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, one of the most renown brass bands of our times.

The tour band is composed of eight excellent musicians: Two trumpet , two saxophone and two trombone players as well as a tuba player, guitarist and drummer. This style of music is like non other, it comes from the heart and makes you feel alive. The constant rhythm changes as well as the song mixes will lift not only your spirit but get your feet strumming to the beat.

Don’t miss this concert, March 29^th at 21:30, a fantastic show that don’t come around too often.

Welcome Spring

Today is the first day of spring 2007 and all over Spain this new season has brought snow, wind, rain and lots of cold… Here is the Costa Blanca we are also feeling it, used to the continuous days of sunshine when there are a couple of bad weather days we really feel it and start to complain.

But we really have nothing to complain about in this part of the world because even though the temperature may not be ideal we can still go out and enjoy life. In the sun at any time of the day whether it´s in Benidorm, Alicante or any other part of our surroundings we can still stand the chill which is not that bad if we are dressed right and have fun. Happy Springtime.

All bloggers who write about things that are of general interest will be able to obtain a series of benefits and discounts in the chain of hotels, with the most interesting offer of a 2 for 1 in any establishment, as well as 20% discount to be used at the peak of the season.

The owner of the card for “bloggers” Magic Costa Blanca will receive preferential treatment at check-in, avoiding the long waits that sometimes occur at the reception area. They will also have a preference when making the reservation.

17th Rallye Race Costa Blanca Trophy

The Mediterranea-Costablanca national championship rally award, is on of the most traditional and with most prestige of all circuit competition. The date of competition is March 24^th with Friday the 23^rd being the test date to evaluate the teams.

Terra Mitica will hold the technical area for these teams, 7,000 square meters ready to allow engineers and mechanics to tests their cars. Saturdays’ race will begin early in the morning at 7:30, with the first of the tour series that make up the race with the alter taking place at 10:05, 14:13, 17:52 and 20:25 hours. This is sure to be a frenetic and exciting race. Fallas, car races, sun and the beach. What a great month to enjoy Benidorm

Benidorm will be two hours away from Madrid via the AVE Train

Future connections by train to Benidorm will reduce travel time of these great distances even more now (how many people from Madrid would love to enjoy an apartment for the holidays once this becomes a reality?) Because Madrid and Benidorm will be only a couple of hours away. Get out of work at three jump on a train and voila, you are ready to take a dip in the pool by 5 pm.. You can’t ask for more.

Valencia will be only one hour away, something really important being that all official entities live in this city and the capital of tourism which is without a doubt Benidorm. Bringing these two cities closer is sure to impulse tourism.

Valencia, Gandia, El Altet, Benidorm, El Campello.. now just a step closer than before.. all waiting to share its beaches and great climate. Nothing like it.
