Benidorm, the new television series in the Uk pokes fun at British tourists

Posted by syameses on 25 Feb 2007 | Tagged as: entertainment, beaches, travel, benidorm

It is all based on the fictitious company of Solana Apartments, which has its own web solanaapartments.co.uk, and it counts on a great set of comical actors and very funny extras (their faces and bodies burnt red from all the sun and sangria pitchers). Just thinking about the  content and the sets, it is sure to be hilarious.

The series deals with the adventures of a group of British tourists spending their vacations in Benidorm. Within this group are a pair of gay men, a dysfunctional family, a young medium class family and a retired couple who just love Benidorm and the Spanish part of the Mediterranean. And lets not forget the alcoholic hooligans who enjoy the “all inclusive hotel deals”

Madonna may perform in Benidorm this summer

Posted by syameses on 13 Feb 2007 | Tagged as: general

The offers are on the table, concerts from Maddona, Shakira, George Michael, Il Divo, David Bisbal and not to be left out Prince. And I think you are with me when I say with the exception of Shakira, the great boom this summer could be if Maddona brings her Confessions Tour to Spain, to Benidorm.

In the article published by EMV, it is more possible that Shakira and Il Divo make an appearance in Benidorm than Madona due to budget issues. Evidently, Shakira is a great attraction but it doesn’t stop being a product (like Risto would put it) a Latin project, meanwhile Madonna, well, that is the equivalent of a Rolling Stones (who were here a couple of years a go) and U2 visiting us.

New ride in Terra Mitica for 2007

Posted by syameses on 13 Feb 2007 | Tagged as: travel, benidorm

This is a picture of the Ball Coaster, an attraction of pure adrenaline. Well, Terra Mitica has announced that will be installing something similar, a one of a kind Ball Coaster, which gives us a little anticipation on what we will be able to fee. It will be built in the Roman area of the theme park, where we can now find the famous Flight of Phoenix (one in which I have only been able to ride a couple of times and not sure how I survived the excitement). This new ride will be one of the new innovations planned for this year that will be able to be seen from diverse places throughout Benidorm and Finestrat due to its height and lighting. Terra Mitica is not releasing many more details on this new adventure to keep us all under suspense.

One more thing they did announce was the new club for children called Club Baba.

The Hotel Villa Venecia is a very special hotel. Located in the heart of Benidorm, it is a beach front property in the center of town. The hotel building is an elegant space from the XX century that has been restored and updated, and is able to transmit the enchantment of the majestic architecture of the entire chain of hotels. And now the hotel group Costa Blanca Magic (this blog’s sponsor) is going to invest more than two million euros in this grand hotel (now 3 stars) and convert it into a luxurious 5 star palace by this summer. The remodeling will include reformed bedrooms with spectacular ocean views.

The hotel will also offer a spa, luxury restaurant with an outside terrace (open to the general public) and surroundings which are not only peaceful but will be an exclusive place to couples and families alike. So, starting this summer Hotel Villa Venecia will become a new Hotel Boutique so we could continue to enjoy Benidorm.
