Don´t forget the date, January 5th 2006 is the three Kings parade from 17:00 to 20:00 hours in Alicante. This is a tradition in my family, every year we dress up the kids in warm clothes and get together with dozens of other families and go see the Three Kings bring us their blessings.

Many merchants are reducing their prices on some merchandise to attract those customers still in search of those last minute Christmas gifts. This due in part to slow sales so far this year and to preview the sales of the coming months. In Spain, January and July are the official sale months, the so called “rebajas” during the year but merchants can lover prices and offer sales all through the year as long as it is not below cost. Take advantage and finish that last minute shopping.

It´s time to make your holiday dinner reservations and you better hurry! This is the busiest time of year for hotels and restaurants with many people holding their holiday celebrations together with friends and family are booked!
This year I was left in charge of organizing the Christmas dinner my friends and I hold every holiday season to celebrate the past and welcome in the new year. Well, let me tell you, it was not as easy as it sounds.. After calling a dozen places, I was finally able to reserve at an Italian restaurant (I had to beg and plead a little).
So pick up the phone and start calling, there is still a chance you will be able to get a table at your favorite restaurant.

One of my favorite movies ever is “Like Water for Chocolate“, an ultra romantic film about the passion of love and food. If you have never seen this film and you are a romantic or film lover, I highly recommended. The novel is a beautiful piece as well and now there is a theater version.
December 14th through January 7th 2007 you can see the play directed by Garbi Losada in the Musical Theater of Valencia. A great holiday gift idea for your loved one.
